Riddle

i have a riddle for y'all: a father and his son were driving in a car. the car got into an accident. the father dies,. the son lives but is rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. the surgeon walks into the room, takes one look at the boy and says,"sorry but i cannot operate on my own son." how do u explain that?
